WELCOME to CSA love.

WELCOME to CSAlove.

{a platform for exploring the bounty of the CSA}

CSALove is a platform for sharing the bounty of Community Supported Agriculture.

The site, art exhibit and the accompanying events expolore the unique experiential benefits of eating through a CSA membership and other direct farmer-to-eater systems.

Through imagery, poetry, pickling, and gathering, we connect to our food systems, farmers, the land, and each other.

  • Tip 1 from “10 Easy Steps to Incorporate more Local & Seasonal Food into your Diet”

    I’m going to share with you “10 Easy Steps to Incorporate More Local and Seasonal Food into Your Diet”—from MACSAC (Madison Area Community Supported Agriculture)’s foodbook From Asparagus to Zucchini.  (which we plan to have available for purchase at the CSAlove show.)  It literally goes from A to Z—outlining how to store, prepare and cook all sorts of vegetables, helping you better use your CSA shar.

    TIP 1:  Start Slowly

    Eating local and seasonal food often requires that you make some changes in food preparation, meal planning, and shopping.  You may find that your tastes, and those of family members, also change as you learn to eat locally available foods.  Do not expect these changes to occur overnight.  Set reachable goals by incorporating seasonal food slowly into your meals and shopping.

    —Lauri McKean

    Of course, with a CSA, you don’t need to worry about the shopping part, which is wonderful.
